World Lindy Hop Day 2019 Saigon

One morning in 1929, Frankie Manning--then only fifteen--was walking through Harlem, New York on his way to Sunday school. Passing the Alhambra Ballroom, he made a decision to take dance classes that would change swing forever. Known as the Ambassador of the Lindy Hop--the exuberant style born in Harlem--Frankie Manning is remembered as the first person to take swing from the dance floor to the air above it.

2019 marked 10 years since he started dancing with all his old friends in another happy place. Saigon Swing Cats (SSC) join the world in celebrating the Lindy Hop dance that we love and thanking Frankie for his ceaseless inspiration and values that live on in spite of his physical body.

Sofitel Saigon Plaza will once again turn its elegant Boudoir Lounge into a happy happy place for the Saigon Swing Cats to come dance to authentic swing jazz live music by the Swing Angels Sextet (Maks Filippov on keyboard, Thomas Noyer on guitar, Anton Sydorenkov on drum, Ben Litwicki on saxophone, Benjamin Eisenberg on bass and Bea de Carlo vocalist) for 1 night only May 25, 2019.
